Flying is the fastest and most practical option for most travellers. The Jaipur to Srinagar route has direct and connecting flights available depending on the date and airline. Flight time for a direct flight is approximately 2–2.5 hours. Check IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet, and Vistara for current options.

Important: Our package does NOT include flights. You book your own Jaipur → Srinagar (arrival) and Srinagar → Jaipur (return) tickets. Once you finalise your flight timings, share them with us and we build the entire ground itinerary around your arrival and departure.

Tip for Jaipur travellers: Book your flights 45–60 days in advance for peak season (May–June & December). Prices spike close to the travel date. Aim for a morning arrival in Srinagar so Day 1 is not wasted.

Jaipur to Kashmir by Train

Several trains run from Jaipur to Jammu Tawi (approx. 10–12 hours). From Jammu, road transport connects to Srinagar via the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). The road journey from Jammu to Srinagar takes approximately 7–9 hours depending on traffic and conditions at Banihal or Banihal Tunnel.

The Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project is progressively extending rail connectivity toward the Kashmir Valley. As of now, check the latest schedule for connectivity updates before booking.

April to June — Summer Escape

When Jaipur hits 42–47°C, Kashmir is a pleasant 15–25°C. This is the single biggest reason Jaipur families choose Kashmir in summer. April brings the famous Tulip Garden in full bloom (one of Asia’s largest), and May–June fills the meadows with wildflowers. All roads — including Sonmarg — are fully open.

December to February — Snow Season

If your family has never seen snow, this is your moment. Gulmarg gets 3–6 feet of snowfall in peak winter. The gondola operates (weather permitting), and you can ski, sled, or just walk in the snow. Evenings in a warm houseboat with a kangri (fire pot) — there’s nothing quite like it.

September to November — Autumn Colours

Srinagar

Every Kashmir trip starts and ends in Srinagar. Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens (Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, Chashme Shahi), Shankaracharya Temple, Hazratbal Mosque, Pari Mahal, Lal Chowk market — Srinagar keeps you busy for 2 full days easily.

The 1-hour Shikara ride is included in our package. Do it at dusk if possible — the water reflects the mountains in orange and purple light and it’s genuinely one of the most beautiful things you’ll see in India.

Gulmarg

At 2,650 metres, Gulmarg is where Jaipur families come to touch snow for the first time. The Gondola (Phase 1 to Kongdori, Phase 2 to Apharwat at 4,200m) is the main attraction. In summer, the same slopes turn into vast green meadows dotted with wildflowers — equally beautiful, just different.

Gondola booking tip: Book Phase 1 + Phase 2 tickets online a few days in advance in peak season. Walk-in tickets are limited, especially on weekends.

Pahalgam

Pahalgam is the green soul of Kashmir. The Lidder River flows through town, and the side valleys of Aru, Betaab, and Chandanwari offer some of the most picturesque landscapes in India. Families usually love this spot the most — it’s walkable, gentle, and beautiful.

Sonamarg

The 80-km drive from Srinagar to Sonamarg along the Sindh River is reason enough to go. Thajiwas Glacier is the end destination — accessible by pony (paid locally). Best visited from April to October. Sonamarg is typically closed in deep winter due to snowfall on the approach road.

Doodhpathri

If you have an extra day and want to see a side of Kashmir that most Jaipur tourists never experience, Doodhpathri is the answer. It sits about 42 – 45 km from Srinagar in the Budgam district — a wide, flat alpine meadow at 2,730 metres surrounded by dense fir forests and cut through by crystal-clear, milky-white streams.

The name comes from those streams — so pure and white they resemble milk (doodh means milk in Kashmiri). Wildflowers carpet the meadow from May to July. There are no cable cars, no ski lifts, no crowded vendors — just open space, birdsong, and mountains. It’s the kind of place you spend two hours in and immediately wish you’d stayed longer.
